Still wholly unable to find Mr. Anderson’s stand on the 2nd Amendment.

Reading some of the comments below I must advise that even progressive pundits, I’m mainly talking about the radio and TV talkers, have accepted an inferred Catch 22. Most of them know about how the media is controlled and that the evil corporations that we all decry and the big five media corporations sit on each others boards of directors in many cases, and have stocks and other financial interests in each other along with various common interests. Therefore it is subtly understood that to come right out and speak the truth will get one a ticket out of the public voice so they tend to play it close to the margins. Peter B. Collins is one example. He told the truth and continues to do so.

Another for instance: several years ago if anyone called into Thom Hartmann and suggested the bankers were evil and controlled too much, Thom would rail at them that they were using code for stating the Jews were in control of the world and hang up on them and we would not hear their point. But since the banking fraud of 2008 Thom now feels comfortable with calling the same people “banksters” and allows people to rant on about their manipulation of our political system. I’m still waiting for people to start outing the oil industry and they should take their cue from the Wisconsin debacle where the Koch (oil refinery industry) funded the campaign of Walker that saw him barely survive a recall effort. We will be a free nation when money is no longer able to persuade people into making self defeating political choices. That can only happen when people wise up to the truth. We need people out there in the airwaves tellilng the truth, speaking truth to power, but go to far to fast and your gone from the airwaves: CATCH 22.

I have been one of the first in my circle of acquaintances to suggest Rocky as a worthy standard bearer, and have done so flush with high enthusiasm. However I am now in the due diligence stage and feeling some shivers of possible “buyers remorse” to come. I am concerned about the ABSENCE of his stated positions on some key issues, and these need to be cleared up.

For example, here we are with the fossil fuel industry persisting their denial in the face of an endless body of fact that shows climate change to be the GREATEST danger we have ever faced. And yet, now comes Rocky Anderson, presenting nothing here in his opening statements, anything like a vigorous position on this crucial issue. This can’t be an oversight. What are you NOT telling us Rocky?

I don’t see anything here about US support for Israeli apartheid and Israeli settlement expansion. He can’t expect to dodge that issue, can he? And since he can’t dodge it inevitably, why doesn’t he forthrightly put it out front here at the beginning? I feel a big disappointment coming on.

I don’t see anything here about empire, war and its companion, slippery-sloped so-called “humanitarian” interventions. It’s hard to take a presidential candidate seriously who doesn’t have THIS stuff PROMINENTLY forefront at the beginning of a campaign… And if it’s NOT forefront at this point, it is not forefront for a politically decided reason. I don’t like the smell of it.

What is your general position on the environment?
