Jack – I’m curious how you would convince the dems to be progressive. I read Russ Baker’s “Family of Secrets” and now understand the mafia-style tactics used by the CIA on those to effectively oppose the shadow corporate gov’t. Every congress person’s life is on the line if they don’t go along with the corporate agenda.

I tried doing something with http://www.pdamerica.org/ a year ago. Got nowhere by myself. I am the only one in Salmon Idaho and maybe 1 of 3 Rocky supporters in Idaho. It does not have to be this way.

Nobody expects Rocky to do it all. That’s why this group is here. My question is, what is the best way forward? I think moving the current democratic party to a new level of progressiveness, Let’s show the current dems that they will have our support if they go along. Their current direction is downhill, but they have the momentum to change that.

Maybe we should all tweet what Obama is doing. A few other folks might join. We should not expect Rocky to do all the work of saving this country.

Ingrid, the only way politicians can get a piece of Social Security is to privatize it, so that is now in the works.

“Private” companies (banks) can give campaign bribes, and public entities (SSI) can’t!!! So politicians want to take one of the few systems that works, and adds ZERO dollars to the deficit, and make it a bogeyman so they can skim off the top. You’d think that this election, with the negative connotation of political money, would have smartened them up. But we’ll see.

I just heard Bill Black on the realnews say that a group of Democrats called “the third way” are working with President Obama to privatize social security. Calling our senators and members of congress ought to be a top priority here.

William Brighenti, What’s up with CT? I just looked up the election results in CT, and in Wallingford Rocky Anderson beat Obama:

Romney 0 votes, Obama 9,259 votes, Rocky 11,559 votes, and, Johnson 75 votes
Overall, Rocky couldn’t match either Romney or Obamal however, he did get more than 50% more votes than Johnson. Not bad.

I’d look to the politicians to fix this, and lately they may be more inclined. All of these cash dollars backfired on them. But I’d see Rocky as being more effective as a “progressive democrat.”
