The IAEA has been allowed access to a number of nuclear facilities in Iran in order to survey its nuclear technology. The IAEA Director General has declared that a number of nuclear facilities, which the IAEA now has under observation, are enriching uranium for peaceful purposes. The Director General is still requesting access to all of Iran's sites that are conducting nuclear research for full validation of Iran's nuclear program.
The constant belligerent rhetoric of the Democrats and Republicans, coupled with Israeli covert operations, has only increased Iran’s antagonistic attitude towards the West. America should not be threatening or condoning overt or covert military actions. We must pursue policies that de-escalate tensions between Iran and The West.

Since September 11th, 2001, the US has been in the longest period of continuous war in its history, which has brought disastrous economic, social and political consequences both domestically and internationally. Renewed engagement with Iran, not military posturing, is the only strategy I condone.

Nuclear weapons should be banned from the planet. Anyone with half a brain recognizes this. We have about 23,000 nukes now on the planet, many or most of which would make “Fat Boy” and “Little Boy” look like firecrackers. Fallout from any one of these will freely waft about the earth. Equally or more important is that once the nuclear threshold is crossed, the most probable outcome is continued expansion of detonations. If our “leaders” wish to fight, give them boxing gloves and a ring. I’ll personally pay for the match.

Pre-emptive military action is never justified, even if a country masses their troops and weapons on one of their borders. Any country has a right to build up their forces on their own property, including nuclear forces – which the United States and other nuclear powers have done. The only way to deter war is by diplomatic negotiation and having the means to retaliate if another country starts a war. Neither Israel, nor the United States, should attack Iran based on what Iran might do; that would be a disasterous decision, and one which would solve nothing in the long run, as nation upon nation retaliates against each other. The best way to eliminate nuclear weapons is by world-wide negotiation and world-wide inspections by the United Nations.
