Dear Christy Santiago: glad you finally got the message. We want Obama out of office because he is the greater evil: he gets away with his corporate agenda because he is a Democrat and talks left; however, he walks right to Wall Street. If McCain had done what Obama had done over the past four years, there would have been a revolution in this country. Obama gets a pass from his supporters. Gee, I wonder why?

I agree with most of Rocky’s stances on the issues. The areas where I disagree is…1) Marriage should only be between a man and a woman. 2) All illegal immigrants should be deported immediately and we should reduce the number of green cards. 3) I oppose legalizing marijuana and we need to keep addictive drugs illegal. Just think how worse the number of car accidents will be with legal narcotics. 4) It doesn’t say what Rocky’s view is on abortion. I suspect that he doesn’t care. However, abortion should only be used in cases of rape.

A vote for Rocky is not a “wasted vote”. Does he really stand a chance to win. No, of course not; not this year. But a vote for Rocky, or any independant candidate, sends the message to Washington that we’re fed up with the 2 party system. It shows Americans that they have more of a choice than just the far right or far left. It shows everyone that you don’t have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Maybe this year only 7% of the vote goes to independant candidates. But next year it could b e 8%, then 10%, then 20%, and eventually politicians and the general populace will have to take notice. And people will start to realize that we can change this broken system. I’m not voting for the lesser of two evils this year.

Christy Santiago is dead wrong. Vote for your candidate no matter what. If Obama winds up winning, the Republicans will sit in bewilderment knowing they couldn’t sway the 5% of independent voters they needed. In that case maybe in 2016 they will think harder about putting a worthwhile candidate up for election. This is the beauty of democracy, every vote counts, major party or not. People who think votes are “wasted” are either grossly misinformed or just ignorant, and their votes are the ones that ultimately prevent America from revolving out of the circumstances we are currently experiencing.

There are only 2 major candidates right now and one of them will win whether you vote or not. I would have hoped that Rocky would have asked his supporters to to vote for one or the other as right now, a vote for Rocky is pretty much a non vote. I’m sorry to say, but the race is down to Obama or Romney. Voting for Rocky helps keep Obama in office. Make a difference with your vote. Make your vote count! Maybe next election Rocky will be one of the 2 major candidates ;) I have nothing against Rocky, just hoping some of you will see you can make a difference this time around by kicking Obama out of office with your vote.
