Ingrid Yiannios, your term “neoliberal” is what I describe Rocky Anderson as and I don’t think it’s a good thing. I vote for conservative libertarians. Liberals and socialists can fly a kite.

Rocky is a weakling, it would be a disaster with him as president. And many of his policies are horrible and expensive for both liberty and the treasury (taxes). I wouldn’t trust Rocky Anderson to mow my lawn after he handled the Main Street Plaza issue in 2001-2002.

The U.N. can be reformed to a greater democracy itself. The U.N. has done a lot of good things through their various agenices – for Refugees, for Population Control, for Peacemaking, for Human Rights, for Hunger, Children, UNICEF, e.g., etc., etc.

The U.N. was instrumental along with various NGOs in developing and instituting the ICC / International Criminal Court – which, since 2002 has been functioning and prosecuting war criminals – except not American ones because the USA refuses to be a member. (Thank the NeoCons for that.) America and Israel are one of the few countries not a member. They want to be free to commit war crimes, as they indeed have committed for decades, and most recently via bushcheney and Obama.

I do not sense that the U.N. is the rproblem as much as the USA and its relationship to it – and what with the USA itself – being the biggest most terrifying bully on the planet block. (Yet insurgents do push them back.) I would prefer seeing some reforms of the U.N. rather than eliminating it. Cooperation is necessary for solving common national /global problems. The U.N. provides a forum for this!
