Sadly do I have to note that there is no mention in the above bullets about the Second Amendment and the so called “federal reserve bank”——the single most execrable hoax in all of mankind’s history. I know that RP supports the Second….he also advocates ridding this country of that unmitigated bowel tumor, the “federal reserve bank” …but what is Rocky’s stance on those two issues….it is vital.

Why would anyone oppose the gold standard? Havent we had enough of the inflation caused by endlessly printing fiat currency? Rocky hasn’t got a clue about liberty!

Thanks for this. Now I have a concise list of reasons to support Ron Paul OVER Rocky!

In a perfect world, Paul would be the Republican nominee, and Rocky the Democrat nominee. Then we’d have two parties we could trust, and Americans could just decide which has the better proposals.

Not sure what you’re referring to, Hayley — Rocky came out in favor of marriage equality before most other Democrats clear back in 1996.

We need to work on Rocky’s homophobia or catering to the super religious nuts to the right, other than that, he at least “says” he’s in support of all the right things.

Is Rocky for gun control?

I agree with Frank that you should add that both oppose the “war on drugs”. I also think you should include that Paul has taken the Norquist Pledge.

I agree with Ingrid about qualifications. But, a debate, a discussion, a series of discussions between two progressives about what is needed in our Society today would be so welcome. Like the untold pounding of relentless Republican debates — which hammer horrible alternatives until they almost appear reasonable — progressive debates would instill and awareness of the missing voice and pose a contrast to Republican and Obama talking points that would show those would-be-emperors have no clothes.

When it comes to a debate between Rocky and Dr. Jill Stein, all I have to do is read their bio’s. Rocky Anderson is by far the more qualified.

If I were a Democrat or a Republican; I would vote for Rocky! I want to see a real debate between ROCKY and Dr. Jill Stein!

I really like the way Rocky is focusing a clear, Progressive agenda. This is essential in America today where the leading Democrat is essentially an extension of the Bush administration in so many ways and everything political that is accessible to the average person goes to the Right from there!
There are essential qualities of community and government that are disappearing, not because the majority of people no longer want them, but because those principles are no longer articulated in the current two party system.

If Rocky is going to succeed he cannot ignore the youth vote.

Young voters are a key constituency of the Paul candidacy and they tend to support Paul either because of his opposition to the physical wars, or his opposition to the War On Drugs and Cannabis Prohibition.

On Rocky’s FB page he has said that he favors treating addiction issues as a healthcare concern, not a criminal one, and when asked whether that meant ending the War On Drugs and Cannabis Prohibition he answered simply “yes”.

Your website has a short “policy statement” that does not offer any real solutions beyond freeing some non-violent drug offenders.

Look, I know that this is somewhat of a political hot-potato in DC, but recent polls including a gallup poll, have shown that Ending Cannabis Prohibition, in particular, is supported by at least 50% of the U.S. electorate, and that rate is only rising. It is also one of the core issues in the Paul campaign and gets him a lot of positive support.

So my question is this: Why on earth would the campaign put an image like this comparing Paul’s stances to Rocky’s and not even mention one of Paul’s most popular and defining issues?

Ok let’s break Shari’s logic down.

1. Ron Paul says he supports social security for current seniors, and claims to have tried and save that money from being used in the wars. This is simply double talk.

In 1999 when the lock-box bill was introduced that would have prevented the federal government from spending the money in Social Security, Ron Paul voted against it. There have been multiple proposals to fix social security easily via temprorary tax-hikes on wealthy income earners to fill the hole created by the wars, Ron Paul voted against this as well. On this area, Paul voted consitently with his Libertarian views and against social security.

2. This a false argument. The Mineral Management Service stationed at the Gulf is not part of the EPA, it’s a branch of the USDA. The main problem with the MMS was the revolving door policy. It was essentially ran by oil lobbyists. Handing enviornmental law enforcement over to the free market will only allow more Oil lobbyists to get into the system.

3. To claim Europe is broke because of healthcare services is innacurate and oversimplifies the issue. Each country contributes to the debt with their own spending, coupled with some unfair trade deals that extracts capital and industry from smaller countries into larger ones. Greece spent their money on defense spending. Ireland’s deficit is due to a bail out since their banking system collapsed. Besides, countries with single-payer health insurance spend much less money than countries with private health insurance industries since they don’t put all the debt onto their citizens.

4. I have no idea what you’re even trying to get at here, since you don’t even address your complaint with the bill’s language or anything, just a bunch of metaphorical jargon with no policy based pretense.

I will put forth that, Ron Paul has made his positions clear. He believes that business owners have the right to discriminate based on race since it is their private property, and the equal-oppurtunity clause of the bill steps on their right to be racist., but supports every other portion of the bill which ends state discrimination. He gets upset whenever the government will interfere with a citizen’s life, but turns a blind-eye when a private entity does.

5. There is more than just one federal supreme court. Each state has it’s own Supreme Court. The California Supreme Court was the house of government which struck down proposition 8.

I would go further and say that the federal supreme court government DOES have the right to strike down the gay marraige bans, since they are an example of state government grabbing unconstitutional powers to regulate the lives of citizens to live as they wish to, similar to the aforementioned Civil Rights Act of 1964 striking down the State Government’s ability to enforce Jim Crow laws. When the state gets out of control, the fed sometimes has to step in, and sometimes it can work the other way around

6. Once again you’re using a straw man, an outmoded one created durring the cold war no less. The United States government has created jobs in the past via certain programs like the New Deal, the World War II effort, Eisnehower’s creation of the interstate highway, etc. Introducing a jobs program is not an overhaul of the economy, it’s a temporary capital injection to the free market to get people to work so they can buy stuff again while simultaneously fixing an infrastructure problem, which if unchecked can badly interfere with trade efficiency. Right now our infrastructure is pretty lack-luster, and out-moded, and the government could inject a couple billion dollars to fixing the roads and retrofitting public property which could save us a lot of money on energy, increase the efficiency of trade, and introduce a lot more demand which will give banks a reason to loan money again to business’.

7. That’s the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard, since 9/11 is perfect example of why the FAA should exist. There was an intellegence failure that day, however in the case of a second attack, without the FAA, how do we coordinate our defense, let alone see the attack coming?

8. Campaign finance reform is a number of things, however in this case, Ron Paul holds no contentions with the Supreme Court ruling Citizens United which allows the creation of SuperPACs, which allows annonymous, unlimited corporate donations to private entities working on the behalf of campaigns. Reform can mean multiple things. McCain-Feingold limited donation amounts to the campaign themselves while forcing candidates to stand by their ads. Many want to strip away the SuperPAC contributors anonimity, and cap their donations. Some want to finance campaigns with public money, the logic being “they’re supposed to support the public interest, not private interests.”
